Our Team

On Jan 18, 2009, the Lord placed on the heart of Matthew, with the support of his wife Kristie and their children along with four other believers and their families to launch Cornerstone Fellowship Church of Galveston County. A non-denomination church focused on “Building Lives with the Word of God through the Love of God” by passionately spreading the Gospel, expositional teaching the Word of God and making disciples of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Mouton is grateful to his father in the ministry the late Pastor Birl R. Mahoney and the Community Baptist Church family for giving him his start in ministry and encouraging him to attend Bible College. It was while attending College of Biblical Studies that Pastor Mouton met Dr. Ivory L. Varner while taking his Pastoring in the 21st Century class. Through this relationship Pastor Mouton became a member of Bible Way Fellowship Baptist Church and served as the Pastor of Outreach. He is indebted to Pastor Varner for his, Pastor. mentor and friend during this great time of training in righteousness.

Pastor Matthew J. Mouton holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Leadership from the College of Biblical Studies. He was committed to ensuring all four of his children had the opportunity to attend college and postponed his pursuit of seminary studies until he had completed their educational journeys. He looks forward to attending Seminary when his daughter completes Nursing school fall of 2026.

Pastor Matthew J. Mouton has been married to his wife Kristie for almost thirty years. He is the father of Armani (Kayla), Miles (Hannah), Colby and daughter Madison. He is the Grand Dad of his granddaughter Mallory and awaits the birth of his first Grandson.
